Inclusive Career Fair 2025

Dear all,

I went to the inclusive career fair held at Raffles Place Wework Office on 21 Jun 2025. While the career fair was held for LGBTQ in mind, I registered to go to the fair with the intentions to find out if there are any job opportunities for people with conditions such as cancer survivors, cancer patients or people who need special care (i.e. dialysis).

I went in with an open mind not knowing what to expect. I waited patiently at 9.50am and was surprised to see many people waiting patiently for the registration for the events. There was security check and the security personnel were very pleasant and professional in their job. I waited patiently for my turn for the registration. The organizer was very efficient in the registration.

I was surprised to see many of the famous companies in the fair such as Apple, Citi group, Air BnB, Property Guru and Stan Chart. There was even a company called The Standard, a boutique hotel just started operation about two months ago at the Orange Grove.

I was totally blow away by their responses when I shared my purposes on coming to the Career Fair. They were very supportive of having people with medical conditions to join them. In fact, there was even a company whose CEO decided to embrace more on inclusive hiring after went through the cancer treatment himself.

These companies were looking at competency instead of whether if the person was healthy. The representatives however stressed that while they do value inclusive hiring, they warned of the balance between such hiring vs the physical demand of the job. Through the conversations with them, I was glad to learn that companies are opening up on inclusive hiring even through this term is still relatively new in Singapore.

After my conversation with the individual companies, their companies representatives had passed me the QR code to scan for the link to their job portal. All of them were warm, polite, genuine, and able to answer the questions that I had.

Overall, it was a very successful career fair and one that I am truly pleased that I went to. I truly cannot wait to attend next year edition.
