My 45th birthday and an update on my monthly individend.
Hi my friends,
I just realised that I had been everywhere in the blog. I am not a professional blogger or I am selling anything so I do not think about what I want to post till I am right in front of the computer. Perhaps I should do better planning in the days ahead.
Talking about planning. I think I should set targets but let me sit on it first.
My Syfe Pimco Fund was transferred from other Syfe accounts and was fully invested. It seemed to take a week from the transfer of the fund to the purchase of the units in Syfe. To gain monthly dividends payout from the Pimco fund, I would need to invest at least $5,000 into it. Plus the $570 fund invested this week, I had invested about $4,200 into the fund. Yet to see or hear anything about the dividend yet. I will be pushing another $1,000 into the account so that I could get to see the cash dividends.
On another hand, for both my income funds which I invested through GE, I had received a grand total of $1,037 dollars ($517 for one and 520 for another). This is my largest dividend month so far. I do hope that this will continue to grow. I will likely to place these dividends in rotation between the two funds. Not a lot right now but it will get there eventually.
It is my 45th birthday this week(Friday). I took 3 days off to paint the town red. To be honest, a day before my leave, I was not happy about the attitude of my company on the tender. I am feeling very jaded by it. I had JW Marriott buffet dinner with my wife a day before the actual day. JW Marriot Buffet standard seems to be on a steep decline as I felt that the food especially the seafood was not as fresh as the last few visits. We are going to can skip the visit to this restaurant till further notice.
I had a rough last year. I had Thyroid Cancer (Thyca) last year. From diagnosed through annual medical checkups till operation and Radioactive Iodine treatment (RAI), it took me a year. All these was 2024 at the age of 44. Now at 2025, I am 45. It is a new beginning and a new me. My birthday wish was simple. My birthday wish is to have more people aware of Thyroid Cancer, to go through annual body checkups and lesser people to join Thyroid Cancer help group because of Thyroid Cancer.
On a personal basis, I will hope to retire (I am going for early retirement due to health reasons) with a passive income of $6,000. I asked for such a high amount because I have a huge chucks of expenses I cannot cut to compromise on the welfare of my family (e.g. insurances of myself, my father and my mother).
P.s. Not a financial advice. Please treat this as the rambling of an middle age uncle.
